THE PLACE · /PLACE

A hospital campus by the sea, not a resort

The course runs at Boao International Hospital in the Lecheng pilot zone, on Hainan’s east coast — with Sanya on the south coast for certain itineraries. It is calm rather than glamorous, which is rather the point: afternoons are part of the medicine.

THE CAMPUS

A 560-bed hospital built to tertiary standards with the Shanghai University of TCM — inpatient tower, clinic building, research centre, and the recovery quarter, on 81 mu of parkland.

GUEST FLOORS

Hospital residence floors — quiet rooms a lift ride from your physicians. Medicinal meals composed to your formula are served here through the course.

THE VILLA QUARTER

Eight self-contained villas with butler service — activity room, billiards, screening room, gym, kitchen, car. Suited to companions and the Long Course.

THE ZONE

Boao Lecheng, from above

A purpose-built medical zone along the Wanquan river mouth — hospitals, research facilities and residences in parkland, minutes from the coast. Qionghai’s airport is 20 minutes; Haikou’s international airport about 90 by car or 40 by rail.

18–28°C IN THE COOLER MONTHSSEA AIR · SHORT RAINSQUIET BY DESIGN

Afternoons are deliberately unscheduled: the seafront, the pool, the town. What we don’t do is fill your day — rest is part of the protocol, and the island does that work well.
